MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, August 17, 2011 -- The RFID Network, the only globally syndicated video series devoted to radio frequency identification (RFID), is pleased to announce the launch of a version of the show in Mandarin as well as both traditional (RFID 繁體 中文) and simplified (RFID 简体 中文) Chinese language versions of The RFID Network website (RFID.net). The premier video episode focuses on how RFID technology is being used to improve the retail fashion business and features hosts Louis Sirico and Enoch Kwak speaking in Mandarin with subtitles in simplified Chinese. The website includes original, in-depth articles on RFID expertly translated from English to traditional and simplified Chinese.
China is investing very heavily in the "Internet-of-Things" (IOT) which refers to linking objects installed with RFID or wireless sensors via the Internet. According to a research conducted by CCID Consulting, China's IOT market volume will register an annual compound growth of over 30 percent to hit 750 billion yuan ($113.97 billion) in 2015. Chengdu Municipality of Sichuan Province is investing more than 1 billion yuan ($151.98 million) to build the Hui'an IOT Security Technology Industrial Park which is focused on research and development activities in the areas of IOT system integration, equipment testing, and network architecture.
The RFID.net website and videos are available on-demand to the burgeoning number of Chinese Internet users. "Our goal is to help educate the East and the West about RFID and wireless sensor technologies", explained Louis Sirico, Chief Technology Officer and host of The RFID Network video series. Several more videos have already been filmed in Hong Kong and China by The RFID Network production team and are scheduled for release this fall.
