More than RFID Middleware for Under $500 a PC

The RFideaWorks Corp. announced it has launched a new “data fusion” middleware solution aimed at the broader Automatic Information Technology market, including the emerging field of RFID. This data fusion middleware, called RFIdirector™, utilizes a patented, standards-agnostic transaction description language so that users can add AIT devices to their existing RFID implementations.

  • sensors and actuators (biometric, GPS, bar code, RFID);
  • multiple data standards (EPC, DoD, IUID, Spec2000, all ISO formats);
  • interfaces with any SQL database.

The product's functionality is similar to much higher-priced middleware, and has a small footprint of only 560 KB.

RFIdirctor's initial support is aimed at fixed RFID readers including Motorola’s FX7400, Alien ALR-9900, Intermec’s IF 30 and IF61, Sirit’s In510, Feig MR101, Deister Electronics readers, Zebra RFID printers, and MacSema’s contact memory buttons. The Company plans to add at least 2 new AIT products every month.

Using a “WalMart” approach, the company has priced its products at $500 a PC and offers a 30-day free trial.. OEM and bundles are also available. RFIdirector can be purchased directly from the company’s web site, www.rfideaworks.com.
